The pendant is beautiful and delicate, evoking the gentle movement of the Marram Grass that I have observed on a number of beaches in PEI. I am a bird lover, and nowhere are there more interesting birds than on Prince Edward Island. As a seasonal resident, I have learned that once I’m on the island, I adopt a slower pace, but I also become more aware of different things: the colours of the water, sound of the waves, direction and strength of the wind, changing tides, flight patterns of seabirds, crow calls, birdsong, and shore birds, in particular.
PEI’s shore birds fascinate me as they run along the sand, darting close to and away from the waves. They seem so bold, and yet so fragile at the same time. What makes them suddenly take flight? Is it uncertainty? Do they follow one another? Do they sense something I don’t?
The “Whisper” piping plover necklace is one that I wear all summer long. I love it! It is the perfect size and shape, and it feels smooth and weightless on my neck.
